  • Pioneer content design for a range of AI-driven initiatives at Amazon Ads, working in a highly ambiguous, fast-moving problem space; collaborate closely with product owners, scientists, engineers, designers, and other UX writers; and present to and incorporate feedback from senior leadership on an accelerated timeline.

  • Establish patterns and best practices for creative ad-builder tools across platforms and formats; own the creation and evangelization of documentation for all of Amazon Ads.

  • Support phased compliance with the European Union Digital Services Act, which mandates transparency in online advertising. This project requires an ongoing cross-org effort to build mandated functionality into established international ad products on Amazon.com, IMDb, Twitch, and the wider internet.

Amazon Clinic telehealth marketplace

2021-2023

  • Earned customer and clinician trust in a highly regulated space with brand-right, clinically accurate, legally compliant content; partnered closely with researchers, designers, product managers, clinicians, engineers, lawyers, and marketers on all deliverables from pre-beta through public launch.

  • Established patterns and best practices for clinical intake forms in partnership with our lead MD; once best practices were established, I managed a contract clinical writer who drafted 2-6 new condition intake forms per 2-week sprint.

  • Informed product decisions from pre-beta through public launch by conducting user research both independently and in partnership with our lead UX researcher.

  • Laid strong, extensible foundations for growth by establishing and documenting net-new UX language patterns for this new business domain.

  • Established patterns across all Amazon Health businesses by supporting 15+ UX designers on a volunteer basis, working on projects like automatic prescription refills, estimated insurance pricing, medical devices, and the integration of One Medical into Amazon Health.

  • Supported core business initiatives worldwide, including implementation of multi-factor authentication for recurring payments (EU), promotional offers for new members (US), integration of third-party promotional offers (India, US), and cross-benefit promotions between retail and Prime Video (Brazil, Mexico). Managed contract UX writers on an as-needed basis.

  • Supervised the first-ever content audit of all Prime pages on Amazon.com (US), developed a coherent content strategy based on findings, then influenced content owners across four teams to implement that strategy. Strategy was rolled out across two years after I left the team, no metrics available.

  • Raised the bar for accessibility by partnering with UX research to establish a baseline assessment of all phases of the Prime member experience, developing practical guidelines for content owners, then leading a series of training workshops for product and marketing teams.

  • Raised the bar for UX writing at Amazon worldwide by creating an Introduction to UX Writing class for non-writers. The class has run monthly for 20 months, with an average attendance of 70 students from the US, EU, and India per class. A recorded version of the class is assigned to all new UX designers at Amazon.
